You need to go to the restaurant to get a gift certificate ,or. You Might be able to purchase online
I spoke with a few people who work there and they have Thanksgiving plans, so I would assume that Goten is closed for Thanksgiving.
For the hibachi reservations would be necessary . If you are going for sushi no reservation is required.
Yes
Food was very good, the presentation was great. The staff were great. And how the wrap your leftovers is amazing
Great service, fantastic food, the best sashimi! I'll definitely go there again.
Always a great experience!! The head sushi Chef is just incredibly amazing! Never disappointed ordering omakase . . . Our most favorite sushi restaurant ever!
Sushi bar is my favorite, very clean restaurant, fresh sushi, my go to place
Good Hibachi, great service! Love all the customizable choices for meals.
Very good place! The hibachi was fun. It was lacking some of the usual hibachi show, fun, and jokes but was still fun. Food was very good. The house maid teriyaki was amazing. I definitely recommend that. The amount of options was lacking a bit, but they had the staples. All of it was cooked well. Drinks were made well also. Service was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this place.
Really great food, the specialty rolls are an addiction
Fun with a group for entertaining and good menu options. Sushi is first rate.
Love this place, such a great experience
Great food and consistently great service. Ask to try their white mustard sauce, it's incredible!
100/10 best experience ever
Always a great hibachi experience at Goten. Food tastes great. The chefs are awesome. Highly recommend!
Beautiful and clean. Exactly what you want in a Japanese restaurant. With both sit down menu and hibachi. Th staff was so sweet and the food is great.
Took my daughter here for her birthday. Very close to UMass and different than the usual places we go to in downtown Amherst. Service is very good and having the chef cook right of front of you is highly entertaining. Pricing was a bit higher than expected but given the quality, service, deliciousness and entertainment value it was well worth it. Chicken, seafood and meat were all fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!
Best hibachi I've ever had. The drinks were strong and the staff was very attentive and polite.
First time visiting there , good atmosphere, hibachi chefs were nice and put on fine show prepping our food, however this place needs an update asap, very worn-out place....Enjoyed the food and ginger ice cream
Terrible experience. Don’t go there if you have any food allergies. They acted like it was a huge inconvenience . They served us 30 min after the others had eaten, got both of our food orders wrong. The food was a watery sloppy mess with NO seasonings at all. Inedible. Then the bill was double what is was supposed to be and the waitress - who clearly did not want to deal with food allergies- took off after the others had eaten. We sat there alone looking at the slop. I talked to the owner to adjust the bill and pay - because the waitress literally disappeared!- and she was none too friendly. Bad experience. We will not eat there again. And - the saddest part- it was supposed to be a fun surprise meal for my sons birthday ☹️☹️☹️☹️
Awesome sushi everytime, in the middle of Sunderland of all places
A fun show of cooking. Good food.
Not great. Also, don't count on teriyaki on a Saturday night. Why? "We're too busy.". The hibachi show is fun! But prices are too high for the quality. Everything tastes a little burnt. Soup is luke warm. Tried twice.
We love this place ! Great noodles and hibachi! The drinks are really delicious too! We come here EVERY time we come to Deerfield area ! Soooo good! I would recommend making reservations though so you don't have to wait 👍🍹
Very good sushi rolls selection. Plates are always beautifully presented. Love the service of miso soup, small salad with house plum dressing and sometimes a bonus like the fries milk cube in savory broth. The hibachi side was more average to me as the meat/seafood/yakisoba/veggies all taste tsimilar to other hibachi restaurants.
100% hands down the best Japanese restaurant that I've ever dined at. This place has spoiled me to the point where nothing in Boston, MA can even compare. The quality of their sushi is superb and their customer service is top notch. I would recommend this to anyone for any occasion.
This place is 5 hands down the best place for sushi and for your typical hibachi grill style food. The atmosphere and the service is second to none. Brian and Boone are the sushi chef champs and their plates of sushi are nothing short of artwork, almost hard to eat due to being so beautiful. My fiance and I would eat here every day if we could. I promise they wont let you down!
Good meal at hibachi table style restaurantPleasant stafg, went early for specials
Absolutely fantastic food and drink. The staff is also amazingly friendly and makes one feel very welcome.
Love this Japanese hibachi restaurant.. some of their fire safety equipment was out of date but the food is A1
Nice, big, and clean place. It is a comfortable restaurant for Hibachi. I really like their soup and cute to go crab box. My favorite Hibachi so far!
Good service, good food, good prices! Even the chef came out to make sure we had everything we needed. Loved eating out on the patio.
This place had decent sushi. I went here because it was close to the Yankee Candle Village. The staff were a bit out of it and not very attentive but the meal was nice enough.
Tasty food, fun experience. Friendly people
Best Sushi/Sashimi in town. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a plus. A must go place if you live or are visiting Amherst/Sunderland.
Very disappointed especially after bringing 24 people with us for a party. The waitress and one of our chefs were not personable at all, when we asked for fried rice we were informed “not on Saturdays.” When we asked about the Sake they said they couldn’t because it “was a choking hazard” yet they still tossed the veggies?! The food was nothing special unless you like bland spaghetti noodles. Left very embarrassed apologizing to our party.
What a hidden gem!!! Goten is a wonderful experience exactly where you wouldn't expect to find one. If you are in the area and hungry for Sushi, give this place a try.We sat at the sushi bar, and Chef said his ears perked up when he heard me ask the waitress if they had hamachi kama :-) This is a really great sign that you are being served by an experienced sushi chef. Not only did the have Hamachi, but also Kingfish Kama, which we had never had, and the urged us to try.We were not disappointed. The Sashimi Deluxe was excellent, and the Dragon roll very good. Honestly, the only disappointment was when I ordered the Saki Bomb, and found out it was only a 2/3rd glass of beer and single saki glass, rather than a full bottle of beer and tokkuri of sake. No worries though, as I ordered those next. Not a problem, most like simply a regional difference in expectations and local servings. We really enjoyed our time at Goten, and look forward to our next meal there.Kampai!!
Great sushi place in Sunderland. We've been here twice now. The fish is fresh, the rolls are delicious and it's presented beautifully. It's nice to find good sushi in Westwrn Massachusetts.
Probably one of my favorite local restaurants. The staff is always friendly. The sushi is always top notch. High recommend!
This is a fantastic place for hibachi. The portions are large and there's options for more of everything. I almost always have leftovers, making the expensive price point well worth it. Good sushi options are there as well.
Food was good. Service was a bit on the slow side. Never offered a drink refill. and I'm pretty sure I was supposed to get an order of shrimp included with my hibachi order in I never got that.
We got take out. The food we tried is pretty good. Would definitely go there again to other things too.
Possibly the best in Mass. Amazing sushi, incredible Miso soup and the Shumia is to die for! We will be coming back here a lot more often.
Had a very amazing dinner over the weekend here. It had been quite a while since the last time I had visited this restaurant, but the food was still as good as I remembered. My wife and I made reservations to eat at 5, but we arrived fairly early and they were able to seat us rather quickly, which was really nice. We looked over the menu and put our order in, and waited assuming they would sit more at our table; but to our surprise about 5 minutes later or so the chef came over and started to do his prep work. I was amazed as I did not expect them to go through the whole show for just 2 people at the table. The chef was very good and put on an amazing show. The food was perfect, and very flavorful. The portions were also very good; and while i have not gone to many restaurants like this i through the price was very reasonable. I would recommend reservations as I have heard they can fill up fast.
Every time ive come in here i wait FOREVER for EVERYTHING. Sat for dinner 1 night.... waited... ordered pickup another (told 20 minute wait)... 1 hour 20 minutes later I'm still waiting. No apologies or anything. Would have liked to have spent my Saturday night in another doorway. Just be honest about wait times. Poor staff were working their tails off to meet unrealistic expectations. Sushi was not good.
Worst service ever there was a birthday party going on that night. Let just say the party was more important than us. Waitress was very rude and was rushing us to order food.. Will not go there again
Absolutely the best place! I love the food, bartender, waitresses andddddd the OWNER! Been going for years and never had a bad experience! ❤❤❤
Best restaurant around here. Love it.
Absolutely delicious! Food is great, service is great and the atmosphere is great! Love Goten and would highly recommend.
The best hibachi restaurant in Western Mass by far! The Sushi is fantastic, the portions are generous, the atmosphere is nice. Been to Go Ten several times over the past few decades and have had nothing but great food and great experiences!
Come here for birthdays at least twice a year, and the Hibachi is always superb. If you like teriyaki or discounts, plan according to their menu prices, which change depending on week vs weekend. The salmon hibachi is A+, and the chefs do their best to keep you entertained and happy. If you're friendly, they appreciate it!
Goten isn't just a meal, but an *experience* where the chef prepares it right in front of you - ACROBATICALLY! Skill and Grace and ... Magic. The food quality itself is fabulous and matches the grand spectacle of its preparation. Brace yourself for sticker shock, where each person in your party may be upwards of $30 - but know it's WORTH IT.
Amazing sushi sit at the bar and watch them prepare your meal in front of u
